You Were There

Piolo Pascual is now creating a new hit. This is his own renditions of former classic love songs we grew up with!

The Ultimate Heartthrob and Leading Man Mr. Piolo Pascual currently released his newest album called "Decades II". This is a followup of his first "Decade" album which truly became a double platinum hit.

Just like his previous album, "Decades II" contains Piolo's very own versions of the hit love songs from 80's, 90's, and early 2000's.

And Papa Piolo's carrier single for this second album is called "You Were There!" Yup, all of us were very much familiar with this song since it's a 90's hit!

I even grew up with this said song. It became a huge hit way back 1994. I was a little child then during that time. I used to sing it! It even became a theme song of Lorna Tolentino's massacre movie called "The Elsa Castillo Story!"

Regine Velasquez made her own version of it way back in 1996 or 1997. And after almost a decade or ten years later, a hunk heartthrob Papa P. popularizes it using his own version!

I even love to sing it until now! And yes, my voice is truly blended with it! Don't worry 'cause next time during our videoke session, I will sing it! Hehe...!

So before I sing it to you, allow me first to share with you the romantic music video of it as well as its captivating lyrics. Then during our videoke session, compare my voice, my own rendition to this song with that of Piolo! c",)

You Were There

(Piolo Pascual)

I guess you've heard
I guess you know
In time I might have told you
But I guess I'm too slow
That's overly romantic
But I know that it's real
I hope you don't mind if I say what I feel
It's like I'm in somebody else's dream
This could not be happening to me

But you were there
And you were everything I'd never seen
You woke me up from this long and empty sleep
I was alone
I opened my eyes and you were there

Don't be alarmed no don't be concerned
I don't want to change things
Leave them just as they were
I mean nothing's really different
It's me who feels strange
I'm always lost for words when
Someone mentions your name
I know that I'll get over this for sure
I'm not the type who dreams there could be more

But you were there
And you were everything I'd never seen
You woke me up from this long and empty sleep
I was alone
I opened my eyes and you were there

Can I take your smile home with me
Or the magic in your hair

The rain has stopped
The storm has passed
Look at all the colors
Now the sun's here at last
I suppose that you'll be leaving
But I want you to know
Part of you stays with me even after you go
Like an actor playing someone else's scene
This could not be happening to me

But you were there
And you were everything I'd never seen
You woke me up from this long and endless sleep
I was alone
I opened my eyes and no, I'm not alone
I opened my eyes and you were there
